Description

Magnetotherapy is a method of physiotherapy, which is based on the action of an alternating or permanent magnetic field on the human body for therapeutic and preventive purposes.

For health purposes, a constant or alternating (high- and low-frequency) magnetic field is used. The therapeutic effects of the procedures vary somewhat, but their action is based on the same physical laws.

The emergence of electromotive forces leads to changes:

rates of enzymatic reactions;
transport properties of cell walls;
electrical potential of nerve cells;
vascular permeability;
blood clotting.

In a constant magnetic field, constant electromotive forces are formed, in a variable — variables. Hence the difference in the results of treatment.
Permanent magnetic field (PMF) improves microcirculation in tissues, stimulates healing processes, activates immunological reactions, has anti-inflammatory and sedative effects.

The use of PMP is effective in a number of inflammatory and vascular diseases:

thrombophlebitis;
arthrosis;
arthritis;
inflammation of the ligaments;
polyneurites;
trophic ulcers;
long-term non-healing wounds.

Low-frequency alternating field (LF) reduces vascular tone, improves peripheral blood circulation, normalizes the function of the endocrine glands, has weak hypotensive and antitumor effects. NMP has an exciting effect on the central nervous system.

Indications for this type of therapy are:

hypertension of 1-2 degrees;
coronary heart disease;
varicose veins;
osteochondrosis;
angiopathies;
arthropathies;
thrombophlebitis;
weakened immunity;
erysipelas;
poorly healing wounds;
melanoma.

How is therapy performed:

During the procedure, the patient is placed lying, sitting or standing. Special magnetic inductors are applied to the skin through underwear or napkins. The shape, size of the emitters, as well as the place of exposure are chosen taking into account the specifics of the disease. For example, in the treatment of the knee joint, two inductors are placed on opposite sides of the knee. And in the treatment of arterial hypertension, giant coils-solenoids are used, inside which the patient is asked to lie down.

Usually, the first procedures are carried out at a minimum magnetic flux density, then after 3-5 sessions this indicator is increased to the maximum. The duration of the procedures can range from 15 minutes to several hours. Therapy is carried out daily for 1-3 weeks.

Magnetotherapy can be used both independently and in combination with other physiotherapy procedures. Its appointment with electrophoresis, therapy with low-frequency currents, UV radiation or mud applications is considered appropriate.

Specifications:

A magnetic field coil is a powerful, modulated, source of variable electromagnetic energy with a high magnetic field strength. The coil design consists of a matching transformer and correction circuits located in a separate housing.
